While many individuals and congregations will participate in some form of consecration at the beginning of the year, some desire to participate in the corporate journey that is being encouraged and coordinated in communication by Fusion Ministries. For those communities who desire to participate in the corporate preparation of the “Divine Experiment” we ask that you provide the following information and agree to some general guidelines to maintain the integrity of the vision.
- Leaders who commit to the Experiment must lead by setting a personal example for 21 days – 30 days.
- We ask that you are in agreement with the spirit and heart of the Divine Experiment as shared in the vision statement under “What is the Divine Experiment”.
- We ask that at least some activities in the church are replaced by a renewed emphasis on prayer/worship/fasting etc. during this time.
- Communication of testimonies both within the community and among the other participants of the “Divine Experiment” is encouraged. Testimonies can be shared directly on the Divine Experiment website or by sharing with a Fusion Ministries staff person. Some of those testimonies will be shared on the website to encourage other participating communities in what God is doing! Only first name and name of the community will be used.
To participate please contact Steve@fusionministry.com and provide the following information:
- Name of your congregation or ministry and city you live in
- How many people in your congregation/ministry have agreed to participate?
- Who is the person who will act as your “scribe” for testimonies?
- What kind of changes are you making to your ministry schedule/calendar for the month?
- Are you participating in prayer meetings during the month with other congregations?
It’s time to move from transformation theory to testimony, and from the experiment to experience in the United States. Let’s trust the Lord to take us deep into the preparation stage of transformation as we seek Him during this time of consecration.
Heart attitudes we have observed that has proven fruitful in other communities:
• Trust and humility, desperation, willingness to “go together” both in the community and with the Fusion team
• Attitude of humility that was expressed often in the phrase “we don’t know what we are doing”, “we haven’t been this way before”. That heart attitude caused the community to lean upon Jesus with full dependence for His leadership. (Joshua 2)
• Having a high expectation level and planning the 21 days accordingly. Identifying a scribe and process for testimonies to be shared because of the full expectation that God will bring fruit from the 21 days in breakthrough, healings, family restoration, etc.
Faith + humility (confidence in God) = abandonment with expectation
(Num. 14:24, Jos. 14:8-9)
Faith + confidence in self = presumption
(Num. 14:39-45)
• This expectation that God will move powerfully, caused them to respond with abandonment not caution or confidence and God met them in their faith!
• They set the bar high not low, meeting early in the mornings, pastors meeting in addition to the corporate prayer times, they ALL fasted, they turned off cell phones, media, no shopping etc.
• Many didn’t even preach Sundays but worshipped and prayed together, seeking the Lord and the presence of the Lord came to the congregations
• Families choose to spend time together rather than going to many other activities like movies, etc. the Lord blessed the families and restored many relationships.
• The leaders didn’t expect their people to do anything they weren’t doing themselves, they were the first ones to the prayer meetings and the last ones to leave
• The people were expectant and didn’t want to miss a single prayer meeting. The presence of God hovered over those gatherings, people were afraid to miss one!
• Pursued individual issues, brokenness before the Lord.
• Leaders were willing to adjust their schedules, programs, and didn’t try to accommodate the Divine Experiment “inside” their system, they stepped “out” of their system to pursue God fully.
• Listened to the still small voice and were obedient, small decisions to be obedient paid off in big ways
• Stayed in relationship with one another
• Their team fused with our team and we trusted that the Lord connected us in relationship and that friendship became a resting place for God’s purposes through us together
Implementation Suggestions from Other Communities:
1. Focus Sunday morning teachings leading up to the Divine Experiment on related themes: prayer, fasting, 2 Chronicles 7:14, consecration, identifying the status quo of our lives, a call for restored intimacy with God, etc.
2 Have a corporate launch service with participating churches and ministries to “kick off” this community journey to seek God. This really sets the tone of expectation and excitement and the sense of going together into the Divine Experiment!
3. Have weekly corporate gatherings during the twenty-one days for testimonies, these gatherings can rotate to different churches during the process or stay in one neutral location.
4. Add daily or several prayer meetings that are open to participating churches and ministries during the week. Usually there is little or no structure other than prayer and worship during these prayer gatherings. Early morning prayer seems to work the best.
5. It is of course critical to this process that the Pastors and ministry leaders meet and prayer together several times a week as well.
6. Establish a “family altar” by focusing on each families going through the Divine Experiment together at home. Meet each morning or evening and read and pray through the prayer guide together as a family. This has had the most impact of anything
With expectant hearts,
The Fusion Ministries Team
